Celadon is excited to announce that company driver Mark Cavanagh has recently earned the distinction of Master Truck Driver by the Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA). Having been with Celadon for 10 years, and having driven for nearly 20 years, this achievement sums up Mark’s career, as he has continually gone above and beyond expectations throughout his career.
The IMTA’s Master Truck Driver distinction is an award that recognizes some of the transportation industry’s top drivers who have achieved a record of excellence through professionalism and service. It separates Mark and a few other Celadon drivers, from most other drivers, as only 2% of the entire driver population in the industry qualifies for the award.
Some of the requirements for a candidate to be considered include:
Achieving this career award is no easy task for any driver, and Mark epitomizes what being a Master Truck Driver means. A true professional committed to doing his job safely and efficiently, he’s done and seen it all throughout his career: driven all over the country hauling all types of freight, been a Highway Hero, trained new drivers, and more.
When asked what the award means to him, he says, “It’s really nice to be acknowledged for as long as been driving,” Mark said. “I’ve probably driven somewhere around 3 million miles total, I’ve seen a lot of different things. It means a lot to be given thanks for .”
Even with having the vast driving background he has, Mark is looking forward to his future at Celadon. He said meeting more people, getting back to training and mentoring the drivers that are coming in is what he’s looking forward to most.
