Over the last several months, the Celadon Expedited division has been on a journey to redefine what it means to drive teams at Celadon.
Improving your experience both on the road and off by getting you more miles, more money, and better benefits, has resulted in Celadon becoming a true team carrier.

One of our biggest points of focus in the Expedited division was to strengthen our current freight network.
As a result, team expedited drivers’ average length of haul and revenue per load has increased significantly since the start of 2018.
Team drivers at Celadon are now averaging a 1,400 mile LOH, compared to 1,100 miles at this point last year. That’s a 27% increase in average length of haul!
Currently, over 80% of the freight that Celadon teams run is true team freight.
This means you’re hauling freight that’s planned specifically for you and your teammate. What makes our team loads even better, though, is that 74% of that freight is run in 10 states.
We’ve worked to significantly reduce loads to the Northeast, and in turn has lessened the amount of congestion our teams encounter.

A strengthened team network also means an increased average length of haul (now averaging 1,400 miles LOH). This is beneficial for both company and contract drivers, leading to more money and increased revenue per truck.
Year to date, the increase in length of haul has led to the Expedited division seeing a 36% improvement in revenue per truck compared to 2017.
$0 down, $600/week truck payments, and 70% gross revenue pay package. Sounds almost too good to be true, right?
Our team lease purchase drivers get to take advantage of these great benefits through our revamped Internal Lease Purchase Program!
If you’re interested in team driving and don’t have a partner, don’t worry!
Celadon Expedited will work with you to find a partner so that you can hit the road as a team driver.
“Running teams on team freight safely and consistently is another action we are taking to get ‘Back to the Basics’ at Celadon. I would encourage all experienced teams and recent CDL graduates to reach out to our Recruiting Department or myself personally to learn more about Celadon Expedited,” Josh Shaffer, V.P. – Expedite Services.
